A CMO, an entrepreneur, and an industrial designer walk into a bar…
- The CMO sits down and says to the bartender, “I’ll have a local craft beer. Our team needs new ideas for things we are capable of delivering to our customers.”
- The entrepreneur sits down and says to the bartender, “I’ll have a martini, shaken not stirred. I just sold this idea and need to go figure out how to deliver it to my customers.”
- The industrial designer sits down and says to the bartender, “I’ll have a vodka buck. I alienated the automotive industry by saying that cars should be lightweight and compact.”
OK, enough levity…though, it is an original joke…I might add.
CMOs, entrepreneurs, and industrial designers have something important in common that should be completely clear.
While these three roles have similar goals, this seems to go largely unrecognized.
Every company wants innovation in today’s world, and that is what industrial designers study for a lifetime and what gets entrepreneurs motivated to take risks.
