Wow. Haven’t been posting to my blog since September of 2014.
While I haven’t used it as much as I used to and mostly use this as a personal journal (i.e. not trying to build traffic), I’ve needed an important hiatus from all social media.
Looks like I might be a little more back in the saddle now.
This is a serious life lesson…gotta go back and write about this one in depth…hahaha…

Can’t help it.
Still have to step back, like whoa, when I see my work is the #1 rank out of 7,970,000 (an article).
Crazy, purposeful, but crazy. #SEO
Thankful too. How did this happen?
It happened kinda like this picture did, lucky I guess…to run into 3 smokin’ klingons. Wait…what?

Learn a lesson from your dog – no matter what life throws at you, kick some grass over that shit and move on!
An accomplished digital marketer and friend of mine, Eric Schneider, started this dialogue and article on ZDNet with Paul Greenberg (Social CRM).
The title is “Check out the Digital Factory: Forging engagement through strategy, data, and interaction” and is a guest post that Paul introduces.
While I don’t plan to get into to much detail on my own blog, I wanted to capture the initial thoughts here (mainly for myself).

As I was working on this case study about how Pinterest uses Redis.
By the end, I was so inspired that I decided to bling up a little badge.
Still, I am very happy with the result.
It was voted off the original post, but, in my heart, this little guy really deserves to live out there on the inter-nizzle.
IMHO.
Comments are certainly welcome! :)

There is an old adage about leading a horse to water, but not being able to make the horse drink.
For some reason, this saying has stuck with me. For several years, it kept coming up. The explorer in me kept asking, “Why and why not?” So, I finally added a part to make it work, to make it complete. After using it in conversation dozens of times, I have not run across anyone who heard the add-on before. So, there ...

Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year! This year, I wish you “the patience of great communications.”
Why am I wishing you this?
I believe that this wish will have a significant impact on your life.
So, here is the secret sauce!
You can build up your patience in three really easy steps:
1. Wait in lines as much as possible – wherever ...

Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues,
For 2012, I wish you perspective.
Perspective is something that I’ve learned a great deal about this year. It is amazing how two people can see, hear, taste, or experience the same thing and still have a different perspective. The fact is, we are all human and allowed our own experience and perspective, it is our right to do ...

In having dialogues with many people about the life purpose exercise I followed, I decided to post my personal version. This took about 20 minutes. I started listing a bunch of stuff that meant something to me…stuff that I could feel good about being committed to. Then I started combining and re-arranging. And yes, it made me cry.
Peas! ab

Finding your purpose for being here on this planet is one of the hardest and most inspiring things you can possibly discover.
Really, it’s not that hard to follow a simple process for doing it, but, for some reason, it is really scary. I mean, like, “Oh shit, what happens if this really works?”
There have been a few people that posted on FB or other places about this exercise on finding your life purpose in 20 minutes, ...

While I haven’t done holiday cards, for the past 6 or so New Years I’ve written a letter to “the world” (well, really friends and family) as a heartfelt and sincere wish in the New Year. The wish is a personal reflection on the past year…to look back and see what I needed to experience from life…and to wish that others benefit in some way from that. (Note: Pics are all taken by yours truly in 2011…titles: sunrise, clouds, moonlight)

I am gonna take credit for the third part of this quote…I keep using it…it sticks…so…
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him/her drink…however, you can make the horse thirsty.
Think about it ;-).
p.s. I don’t claim this “add-on quote” without hesitation, but I’ve used it with about 20 people who had never heard it before…so, why not? ;-)

When life throws challenges at you…just keep going. Keep opening doors and walking through them. Keep your balance of positive in the face of difficulty and negative.
That is how businesses launch and ideas come to be introduced to the marketplace.
Betalkaboutable is a brand I came up with some time ago…and now the “business” (really just me right now ;-)) has actually launched. It’s a milestone in my life…and I am very thankful. Special ...
